G 2 Esports, GamerLegion and HOTU brushed up to triumphes Sunday as eight matches opened up competition in ESL Pro Organization Season 22 in Stockholm, Sweden.
There are 16 groups in Stage 1, with eight more groups welcomed to Phase 2
Stage 1 runs from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 with a 16-group Swiss format and all matches best-of-three. The leading eight teams advance to Phase 2, which is Oct. 4 -8 and has the exact same style.
The groups welcomed to Phase 2 are Group Vigor, MOUZ, Team Spirit, The MongolZ, Team Falcons, Aurora Gaming, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere.
The top eight teams from Stage 2 qualify for the playoffs, which run Oct. 10 -12 with a single-elimination brace. All matches are best-of-three with the exception of the grand last, which is best-of-five.
The event has a $ 400, 000 prize swimming pool, with the victor awarded with $ 100, 000
On Sunday, G 2 Esports won 2 -0 over Fowl, GamerLegion blanked NRG and HOTU brushed up FURIA.
Various other champions, by 2 – 1 ratings in the best-of-three format, were Astralis over Fluxo, B 8 over Tradition, ENCE over M 80, Mild Companions over Brave and Inner Circle Esports over 3 DMAX.
